Beyond.pl Data Center

At the end of 2015, the construction of a highly distinctive complex on Dziadoszańska Street in Poznań was completed. This state-of-the-art data center, the largest in this part of Europe, was formally handed over to the client.

The complex consists of two functionally connected parts: the data center itself and the logistics/office section, accessed via two glazed footbridges over the driveway and a uniquely designed concrete underground passage. There is also a separate route winding through the facility, intended to showcase to visitors the most important zones and systems characteristic of the building’s function.

The form of the buildings and the visual articulation of their façades resonate with their cutting-edge function. The data center appears solid and secure, yet light, thanks to a mesh cladding—the so-called “second skin”—applied to its simple, transparent cuboid form. The architecture of the office building, in turn, alludes to computer system components and features a deconstructed variation of the Investor’s logo, emphasized with lighting effects.

The architecture of the Data Center and all of its systems responds to extremely high requirements regarding the security of the data stored within. The building is protected by a 3-meter-high concrete wall and dozens of cameras and access control points. It operates on two of the most advanced power supply lines with a capacity of 14 MW, while its 8 server rooms can accommodate up to 100,000 servers. The offices can host up to 100 IT employees.
