Prestigious location with history – Plac Wolności 6

This is yet another investment in Poznań, resulting from many years of cooperation between our design office and a local developer.

The project carried out by ELD Poland involves the comprehensive revitalization of a tenement house located in the front-line development of Plac Wolności in Poznań, as well as the construction of a 6-storey rear wing.

This unique investment, located in the very heart of the city, consists mostly of investment apartments intended for rent, but also includes larger service premises located in the front building and on the ground floor of the newly built wing. Most of the residential units in the building are 1-room mini-apartments with a bathroom and kitchenette. Some of them feature balconies or terraces.

The entire building is equipped with 4 passenger elevators, air conditioning, an access control system, utility consumption monitoring, and photovoltaic panels.

Historical background

The historic character of the tenement house is defined not only by its location at the symbolic Plac Wolności, an important landmark in Poznań, but also by the roles the building has played over many years. In 1900, one of the most popular department stores in Poznań was opened here, where literally everything could be purchased. The Michaelis & Kantorowicz department store was divided into 14 industry-specific sections served by 50 salespeople. In 1927, the Słońce Cinema was opened here – one of the largest and most modern cinemas not only in Poland but also in Europe, with a capacity of 1,600 viewers.

Completion of stage 1

The first stage of construction, consisting of adding the residential wing to the existing tenement house at Plac Wolności 6, has been completed. Currently, minor finishing works are still ongoing inside the building. Construction work is also underway in the tenement house to rebuild and strengthen the structure to adapt it to its intended functional requirements.
